An entirely new approach the exercise of religious freedom has been posted. At least two posters have admitted to understanding the "concepts" of how to claim the freedom for oneself and when and why the timing of this claimis paramount.

You left voluntarily and were you then free?

No -they have zero respect for any individuals' free exercise of conscience, thought or will...ZERO

You wrote a (worthless) letter that played right into their control.

You wrote the letter only when "...it became obvious the elders were coming after us and accepted the fact that family and friends were going to shun us."

"Elders.. coming after us' is not an acceptable response to an exercise of a voluntary constitutional right..----- Jeff -do you agree with this statement?

For seventy years JWs have failed to exercise their constitutional right to leave their own religion because they don't know those religious rights exist, they don't know how to exercise them and they don't know that their cult is not exempt from the application of those rights.

Seventy years of pain and humiliation - and you want that to continue?

Why are you still discouraging the individual exercise of constitutional freedoms ?? ??

Stephane- glad to hear fom you! I had hoped you might chime in.

The 'quiet' (unrealistic part) was intended so that liberated people could continue fading, visiting with family... until elders make trouble. Then, it's time to declare emancipation and it's also too late for elders ecclesiastic actions.

JWs cannot DF or DA non-members. You are (after signing)) a non-member. (religious practice is VOLUNTARY)

The Wall case? Mr.Wall was a JW when he abused his wife - so of course, their ecclesial law would apply. Wall is irrelevant to this discussion. 'Guinn' and 'Bear' cases both failed in court because they remained as voluntary members.

The document is NOT a disassociation letter, it mentions no church, doesn't infringe on any churches' rights nor their ability to discipline their own members.

If they self-identify with any of the repudiated hateful actions mentioned as examples, that's on them.

Our action was taken legally, peacefully and with the hope of broad-reaching benefits to society.

No reprisal can come to a person exercising their constitutional rights.

WT/JW have zero right and certainly no reason at law to prevent our exercise of constitutional freedom

No mention of their church is made and no threats forwarded.

BY the way, 'A threat of legal action is NOT a threat'.

We're not "making up" the right to Freedom of Religion we are merely exercising it in the way the constitution intended.

This right "IS" the first amendment of your own constitution !! - do you think it was just filler or fluff to take up page space until a 'real' amendment came along ?? do you?

Jeff what's really nagging in the back of your mind is " how can I heap derision on this guy so that I don't have to think too deeply about religious freedom and how individuals might apply it to benefit their own life?.)

If complex discussions of Human Rights offend you, then just quietly move away - please don't embarrass yourself by conflating human rights with frat-boy underwear mistakes. Human dignity demands better.

I've been lurking and posting here for 9 years. This is where I realized I was not alone in my guilt and shame.

It was the many great people I met here that convinced me that JWs had already lost the cream of the ethical,compassionate and intellectual crop. And I learned soso much - my own ignorance became undeniable

I left years ago as an elder 'in good standing' but totally disgusted with what I saw practiced against decent honest people in the congregation. One day I'll tell my/our story, names and ALL...

I hate that fucking cult with my whole soul so.. one day recently it occurred to me that although WT has boldly tackled modernities greatest moral issues like pillow-humping, tight pants and masturbation among the deaf - they seem quiet on the issue of human rights.

Given that their doctrine is a study in how to deny all Freedom of Religion/Conscience to their own members it begs the question of whether the church might fear or be affected by the exercise of Religous Freedoms granted under the Charter.

I devised a document which when signed constituted both a claim to, and an exercise of a Constitutional Right Plus - repudiated a vile cults corporate practices -all on one page.

Among the hundreds of far better approaches for leaving cults - this one seemed to really touch a nerve. For the heresy of imagining that Freedom of Religion in legal principle might actually translate to Freedom from a Religion by actual practice.

No suggestions were made about how the document was flawed in design, wording (verbose I know), how its' intentions are suspect, or how it harms anyone in anyway.

I invited constructive critisizm and got ridiculed as "an idiot who lacks the cranial capacity to understand simple concepts," My concept of 'using religous rights law to achieve a religious right' is "pure 100% gibberish nonsense" and that makes me "delusional" to at least two posters.

I guess I'll find out ir I'm 'locked' (for having a thought and defending it) when I hit post.

WT policy is that they OWN YOU from the instant of your baptism until they record your death in their records.

Yes - these psychopaths record the deaths of those who were 'disassociated' or 'disfellowshipped' decades ago !

It's all in Shepard the Flock of God.

Leaving with a documented repudiation of their policy and authority leaves a paper trail of your freewill exercise of a constitutionally guaranteed right. (rather important in a liberal democracy don't you think?)

They will go on their way, ignoring your rights while demanding theirs to be expanded.

But one day when the time is right' someone will be pissed right off and fight them in courts. That will become the day we bring our dog to this fight.

Watchtower is losing court battles like never before.

These signed and retained documents of peaceful leavers will contribute to a Death by a Thousand Cuts for these religious, shithouse dictators.

The elders do have authority but ONLY UPON MEMBERS of their own church.

Our document repudiates their churches' laws and authority over one single individual from one date forward.

An answer to a letter from a JW.

this is a reply i sent to a jw who sent me a letter "what is gods kingdom"?

i didn`t want to come across to strong or as an apostate .i was pleasant b4 and after this piece .. you direct me to the watchtower magazine that announces jehovah`s kingdom to get the right answer`s to what god`s kingdom means.. i am somewhat familiar with what the new testament says about god`s kingdom and i cannot find in any scripture a specific mention of jehovah`s kingdom, not one scripture .

those words jehovah`s kingdom do not appear in any bible i have seen including the nwt.. i have a few bibles .. but what i do find is that there are over 20 scriptures that explicitly state that followers of jesus christ, christians, are to be witnesses of jesus christ and his kingdom , the kingdom of jesus christ that is to rule for a thousand years .. the bible makes no mention of a jehovah`s kingdom.. the reason that there are over 40,000+ christian sects is because they all fall victim to relying on their own interpretations of what they consider this scripture or that scripture means and not accepting what the bible simply states.. and then i thanked her for her concern and gave her my e-mail address if she wants to contact me further .. criticsims / feedback welcome .. edit:.
